Let's learn about pigs!

Pigs have really long noses called snouts.  Their snouts can smell really well.  They also use it to dig in the dirt.  When they smell something yummy, they eat it!

Humans have been raising pigs for thousands of years.  Pigs are omnivorous, which means, just like people, they eat both plants and meat. 

The pigs in the story were eating pods from a carob tree.  You can see what they look like below.  This is very healthy food for a pig.
